Ocean Fantasy is the larges in a series of sculptures depicting the legend of the mystical sea turtle named Kauila. Born on the black sand beach of Punalu’u, Kauila loved all children and would at times change herself into a little girl. In this back into a turtle to swim and play with children in the bay. The people of Ka’u cherished Kauila for ensuring the safety of their keiki.
